Engine oil reduction(fast consumption, decrease) and second sealing of Hyundai Motor Smart Stream(Seta III) 2.5 engine
I took delivery of the car in June 2020.
However, a few months after receiving it, a decrease in engine oil occurred immediately.
I took a precious vacation and went to Blue Hands and Hyundai Motor Company's high-tech center to check the engine oil level and seal it.
Then, as a measure, they replaced the engine oil gauge with a longer one that made it look like it was reading lower.
Whatever the measure, there seemed to be no decrease in engine oil for about two years after changing the gauge to a longer one.
However, as I already introduced in the next article, after 3 years and 12 months
I received a notification message telling me to get tested at the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, so I got tested at the Transportation Safety Authority's inspection center.
They say there is an engine oil leak.
I thought it was fortunate that I didn't see any decrease in engine oil.
Now there is an oil leak...
I went to a small local Blue Hands that had a reservation machine.
They say there is no oil leak... haha
The Korea Transportation Safety Authority inspection office said there was an oil leak...
Then, they actually said that the engine oil was LOW.
I rode it for 3,069km and the engine oil is LOW.
I think it would be better to go to a larger factory to reduce engine oil, but I recommend going to a place where the engine oil was changed before.
I went to Level 1 Blue Hands where I changed my engine oil at the end of last year.
At first, I was told to handle it at Small Blue Hands.
I went there last year so I asked him to take a look and he told me to come.
I waited 2 hours...
Even in level 1 blue hands, the engine oil gauge shows LOW.
Hyundai Motor Company's headquarters guidelines state that it is normal if the engine warning light does not come on even if there is no mark on the engine oil gauge. lol
They say that when the engine warning light comes on, it is an extreme situation where the engine is almost ruined...
Also, if this much engine oil is consumed, there must be something wrong, but I guess I'll just say I don't know about this situation.
What you can do at Level 1 Blue Hands
After adding engine oil and sealing with my own money,
They say the only thing to do is to check how much engine oil decreases after driving for about 3,000 km. Haha.
At this time, it is normal if the engine warning light does not come on, as per Hyundai Motor Company's headquarters guidelines.
Level 1 Blue Hands asked if you still wanted to seal it, so I asked them to seal it.
It was sealed in two places as follows:
(Previously, the lower part was also sealed, but they said there was no seal. Haha)
Long after 3,000 km...
The processing was strange and the response was strange, so I took a vacation and made a reservation at the high-tech center directly managed by Hyundai...
When I went to Hyundai Motor Company’s High-Tech Center,
Even if the engine oil is at LOW
They say it's normal because the engine warning light doesn't come on.
(Why do my car needs a plastic gauge for engine oil?)
